Palbociclib is used to treat breast cancer, especially in patients with estrogen receptor-positive and HER2-negative types that have spread to other parts of the body. It is usually given along with hormonal cancer therapy.
How Palbociclib Works Palbociclib is an anti-cancer medicine. It blocks specific proteins called cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6, which are involved in the growth and division of cancer cells. By blocking these proteins, the medicine slows or stops cancer cell growth, especially in estrogen-positive breast cancer.
